Joan worked at the Royal Bank and Bell Canada in Owen Sound prior to dedicating herself to raising and caring her family in Port Elgin, Ontario.  During her decades in Port Elgin, she always enjoyed the famous sunsets and watching them with family and friends.  Throughout her life she liked trying new hobbies and crafts from golf, calligraphy, knitting, crocheting, and even painting.  She enjoyed these as much for the opportunity to meet new people as to learn something new.  Bev and Joan always enjoyed their winters as snowbirds in Florida for several years.  In 2017, they relocated to Southampton.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
