Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Lorna Casemore, who passed away at University Hospital in London on February 15, 2025 at the age of 75. She was born in Owen Sound March 8, 1949.

Lorna was the beloved wife and best friend of Sheldon for over 53 years. She was the loving mother of Trevor (Sarah) of Kitchener, Terry (Jessica) of Kitchener and Amanda Cook (Ken) of Port Elgin and the loving grandmother of Logan and Elliott Casemore and Trent and Tanner Cook.

She is survived by her sister Alice Hatt (Barry) of Owen Sound and her brother John Burtwistle (Barb) of Nanaimo BC as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Burtwistle, her sister Patricia and her brother Jim.

Lorna will be forever remembered for her love of family, her joy and laughter, her fabulous baking of countless deserts, her amazing dinners with creative table decorating, beautiful flower gardens, her love of animals, Golden Retrievers in particular and for being such a positive happy and encouraging wife, mother and grandmother. She loved hockey and never gave up on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lorna and Sheldon had Owen Sound Attack season hockey tickets for over 25 years. They travelled with their 3 children on many camping and motorhome trips across Canada and United States. They enjoyed many cruises and trips to several places around the world and spent some winters in Florida. For years they spent long weekends at Alice and Barry’s cottage at Cameron Lake with both of their families enjoying campfires, guitars, swimming, fishing and a lot of partying.

In accordance with Lorna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eagleson Funeral Home in Southampton. A private family service will be held to celebrate Lorna’s amazing life.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
