Obituary

James, Fred Wesley, age 81, of Southampton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Fred is survived by his wife Dorothy, and his three children, Fred, Michael (Glenda) and Dorothy (Jay).  He is also survived by his grandchildren Dani, Natalie, Debra, Denise, Dray, Bryson and Morgan, and also his great grandchildren Alex, Owen, Noah, Michael, Faith, and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents Fred & Viola James.

Fred fought his battle against cancer for many years. Despite his illness he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, made silly faces with his grandchildren, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks on the nurses. Fred was a superior card player and his heart was full of love.  He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

A Funeral Mass to Celebrate the life of Fred James will be held at the St. Joseph’s Church, 920 Wellington St, Port Elgin on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 12 noon. A Time of fellowship and Sharing will follow in Jubilee Hall. Interment of Ashes, Saugeen Village Cemetery in the Spring.
