Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Joan Ann Allin passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2023.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Joan spent her life as a social butterfly with a keen interest in fitness, always making time for golf, tennis, and horseback riding with friends. She adored animals, especially horses and dogs. She loved fashion, and she was always dressed to the nines with her make-up done to perfection, right until the very end. You could always find her with a Diet Coke or a glass of wine in hand. Joan adored spending time with her husband Tony of 38 years. Her children were the loves of her life, and her face lit up any time she saw her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; her children, Michael, Diane, and Debra (Greg); her grandchildren, Kristen (Matthew), Cameron, Eilish, Maia, and Johanna (Jaime); her great-grandchildren, Ava, Asher, Jack and Nazem; her sisters, Carol and Diana (Robert); and her many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her grandson, Joshua; her brother-in-law, Tommy; and her parents, Brian and Gertrude.

There will be a viewing in Southampton, Ontario, on Saturday, December 30 at Eagleson Funeral Home (234 Palmerston Street) from 2–4 p.m.

Guests will be received in Burlington, Ontario on Tuesday, January 2 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Parish (2016 Blairholm Ave, Burlington, ON L7R 1V4). Reception to follow in the Parish Room.
