Obituary

Boose Ursula Mabel (Ula)

Peacefully at Marianhill Residence on Thursday June 27, 2024 at the age of 96 years. Ula Boose of Port Elgin was the 12th child of 13 born to Alfred and Marie (nee Belleville) St. Pierre and last surviving of her siblings.
Ula was married for 25 years to the late Robert Alexander of Chatham. They had two children Mike Alexander (Roslyn), Pembroke and Lynda Dianne Palinsky (late Steve) of Port Elgin ON. Their life involved moving frequently from city to city in Ontario and then to Regina and Montreal. Ula handled all these challenges effortlessly. Her second marriage to the late Ken John Boose lasted for 34 years.

Sadly missed by Ken’s children Bonnie, Brenda, Wanda, Heather, Tammy and the late Gail and Penny. Ula loved her “little people” and they loved her. She had a magical way with all her babies, Grandchildren; Christine Mitchell (Rob), Ian Alexander, Wendy Timmons (Doug) Ryan Palinsky (Brandy), Tracy Robinson (Brent), Krista Peterson, Tanya Klassen, Jenny Le Clare and Keldon Campbell, Samantha Ryder, Jodi Ryder 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Loved and adored by many nieces and nephews.
Ula will be remembered by her family and friends as an avid sports woman. She enjoyed curling in Regina, Winnipeg and Ottawa for many years and then took up shuffling while wintering in Florida for 25 years. Lawn bowling was another of her favourite activities.

For someone who came across as a quiet, gentle person, she had the heart and determination of a “lioness”. Her competitive nature also came through when she played games and bid euchre.
Ula loved to dance and she and Ken became very proficient at square dancing. As a seamstress, she would whip up the most beautiful dresses (with matching tie for Ken) before their performances.

Another talent of this remarkable woman was that she was an amazing saleswoman for Birks in Montreal, Toronto, Oakville and Rabethges Jewelry in Campbellford. She was also the sales representative for the western region for Canadian Arctic Producers for over 10 years before retiring in 1985.

Cremation has taken place. Final Interment in Micksburg Presbyterian Cemetery.

In memory of Ula, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation or the Marianhill Foundation would be appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.  https://www.murphyfuneralhome.ca/
