Obituary

Carol Jo-anne (Shields) Verdonk, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Wednesday July 31, 2024 at the age of 68. Wife to the late Herman Verdonk. Loving mother to Christopher (Nadine) Scholtz and Anne Louise (Mike) Taonax, Herman Jr. (Kathy) Verdonk, Kelly Verdonk, John (Aura) Zoldan Verdonk. Oma of Cory, Craig, Katelyn, Claire (Tyler), Nevar, Dakota, Jackson, Matthew, Mayana, Melissa, and Lucas. Also, remembered by former husband Doug Scholtz, and former daughter-in-law Anna Zoldan Verdonk. Survived by her siblings, Flora (John) Becker, Dan (Brenda) Shields, Jackie Shields, many nieces and nephews, and extended family in Holland. Predeceased by her parents Molly & John Shields, brother Jim Shields, grandson Kory Kittel, brother-in-law John and his wife Sandy Verdonk.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members in her local community,

Visitation at the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Thursday August 8, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. A Service for Carol will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Family interment to follow at Purdy Cemetery. A time of refreshment and fellowship will take place at the Paisley Legion from 2-5 p.m. on Friday. Please know that you are encouraged to attend all or any one of the gatherings.
