Obituary

ROOT, Leon Albert – passed away peacefully at the Brightshores Health System (Owen Sound hospital) surrounded by his family at the age of 69. Leon will be sadly missed by his wife Charlene (nee Keenan). Dear father of Sandy & Kirk (Melanie) Root. Stepfather to Jake Keenan-Root, Amanda Keenan-Root.  Proud grandfather of Braydyn, Marykka, Brock, Logan & Wyatt.

Brother of Roger Wesley, Ronald (Janet) Root, Marilyn Root, Theresa Root, David (Ellen) Root, Renita Nawash .  Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by his grandparents, Alec & Isabell Root (nee John) and Alfred (Nagam) & Lila (nee Williams) Wesley, by his parents Crawford & Mabel Root, by his sister Elizabeth Ritchie-Moore, by his brothers Dennis Root and Gregg Root.

Visitation will be held at the home of Theresa Root 926 French Bay Rd, Saugeen First Nation on Monday Nov 11, 2024 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm and also Tuesday Nov 12th, 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm.  A Service to Celebrate the life of Leon Root will be held at the James Mason Memorial Centre on Wednesday November 13 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at French Bay Cemetery. A Time of fellowship to follow at the James Mason Memorial Centre.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
