Obituary
Noreen Indriliunas (Callanan)
Noreen passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, December 25th in her 68th year.
Noreen, will lovingly be remembered by Peter, her husband of 49 years, her children, Owen and his wife Amanda, and Tatiana (Shani) and her husband Steve. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Macey, Miles, Liam and Clara. They will always cherish many fond memories of their devoted Grandma/Nana. She will be dearly missed by her Mom Bessie, her sister Christine (Rick), and sister-in-laws, Barbara (Doug) and Chrissy (Frank). Noreen will be fondly remembered by her many Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Noreen was predeceased by her Dad Micheal Callanan.
Noreen met Peter in Orangeville in 1967 and were together ever since. They married in 1972 and moved to Mississauga in 1975, after Owen and Shani were born. Noreen started working at various companies in Mississauga, with her lengthiest time at General Chemical where she worked hard, made lifelong friends and supported her family. They moved to Southampton to enjoy retirement in 2017. It was her favourite place and she embraced everything about small town life. The time spent here with Peter, her dog Archie, her kids and her grandchildren was her happiest time.
Noreen was an amazing Mom. She did everything for her kids and they were her favourite entertainers and adventurers. Although she was the funniest person in the family. Noreen loved life and was always excited for the next holiday, vacation and summer at the beach. The family made many trips skiing and to Florida over the years. Peter and Noreen loved their trips to Europe with some favourites being stops in Villefranche-sur-Mer and Santorini. Noreen’s favourite things were planning Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, planning baby and bridal showers, and choosing and giving the most perfect presents. She loved travelling, knitting and spending time at the beach. Noreen had so much fun with her grandchildren playing and swimming in Lake Huron.
She has left a large hole in our hearts and lives but we have so many treasured memories.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Southampton Hospital for their excellent care and compassion during a difficult time.
Noreen’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for the Spring. Memorial donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital CT Scanner project or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
